NEW TransportsInternational and local travellers flying into Abuja will arrive at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. The University of Abuja is about 5 kilometres from the airport. There are two kinds of taxis at the airport. We advise travellers who have not been to Abuja before or who do not know where they are going to patronize the formal Airport Taxis where all vehicles are registered for security. There are also e-hailing taxi services such as Uber and Bolt which effectively cover all parts of Abuja. There is a metro line that runs from the airport to the central business district of Abuja. Unless you know where you are headed or where to drop off, it is advised that taking a taxi is better since the taxicab will deliver you directly to your hotel.
The Local Organising Committee is also working on a more convenient alternative of employing the services of a transportation company, its fleet of taxis will pick participants as they arrive. There will be airport greeters or taxi board holders to guide
Please note: The venue of the conference is at the permanent site of University of Abuja. Apart from the ASUU Chalet located on the same campus where the venue is, all other hotels are kilometres away. It therefore means that participants will have to transport themselves from their hotels to the conference venue- cost may range from about N5,000 to N8,000 Nigerian. |
